Tsunami Relief Works carried out by the staff of Kendriya Sadan

The Central Government Office staff and their associates in Kendriya Sadan (Koramangala,Bangalore) and Residents' Welfare Associations of GPRA colonies had responded to the appeal for donation in cash and kind towards the relief measures for the tsunami victims.    Huge quantities of clothes and food items were collected from the staff and also from door to door and shop to shop by the Officers and Staff under the able guidance of Shri S.Chinaswamy, Chairman Kendriya Sadan Welfare Co-Ordination Committee & Chief Engineer (SZ) III, CPWD.

The relief material was sent through truck to the tsunami victims in and around Chennai viz. Foreshore Estate-Pattinampakam, Kasimedu, Nochikuppam, Beasant Nagar beach etc. The distribution was carried out by the volunteers (staff from Kendriya Sadan) accompanied along with the truck under the supervision of Shri. J.M. Raj, Additional Director General (SR), CPWD, Chennai on 4-1-2005 .

The tsunami victims have wholeheartedly received the food and clothes. Our volunteers experienced many hungry victims wanting for food in the area and we could feed them with whatever we had. We thank for the kind cooperation by the staff and to all those who have contributed. We are confident that the tsunami victims will get rehabilitated soon and lead normal life.

Let us not depend on foreign aid we should be able to generate finance and provide expertise for such preparation.

Let's pray together and hopefully God will not give us another disaster, Let us help and rehabilitate the sufferers.
