INDIAN SYSTEM OF MEDICINE

1. GENERAL INFORMATION:

The main objective of Indian System of Medicine is to popularise Ayurvedic, Homeopathy treatment and to provide services and medicines to the rural population. The diseases like Jaundice, Paralysis, Brain Fever, Piles, etc., which do not respond to Allopathic treatment fast are treated under Indian System of Medicine at a cheaper expenditure. There are 2 Homeopathic Dispensaries, 1 Unani Dispensary, 3 Ayurvedic Hospitals, one with 10 beds other two with 6 beds and 67 Dispensaries in the district.

There are 3 Ayurvedic dispensaries at Ittagi ,Kampli at Hospet taluk and Nandihalli of Hadagali tq. Proposals to open four dispensaries are submitted to Government sanction for the same is awaited.
